J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King (First US Edition, 1956)
Near fine blue cloth lettered in gold, showing very light shelfwear including a small mark to bottom text edge. In Near Fine protected dustwrapper.
A lovely copy of the first US edition, first impression of the third part of tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” books. The dustwrapper is bright and not price-clipped (see photograph). This impression has a 4 printed at the bottom of page 49 and the infamous “slipped-text” (see photograph - in the second last paragraph you can really notice the s in “Legolas” is below the rest of the line).
The map is still pasted onto the rear inside cover and is in perfect condition.
